This is a large three storey home at 30 Maynard Ave. in the Parkdale area, housing 24 tenants. There are a total of two single bedrooms and 11 double bedrooms spread throughout the house. All of the bedrooms have en suite washrooms, with the exception of three bedrooms on the third floor, which share two washrooms on that floor. The dining room and second floor lounge area also have a washroom. The kitchen, dining room/lounge area, laundry room, office and washroom are located in the basement. As is the case in all of these buildings, there is no smoking anywhere in the building.
The rents are based on tenant's income source. Tenants receiving ODSP pay $543.30 per month and those receiving OW pay $356.72 per month. This payment includes three meals and an evening snack, an available snack table during the day, laundry soap, toiletries such as toothpaste, deodorant, shampoo, etc as well as daily housekeeping, use of telephone for local calls, access to newspapers and magazines, staff on site 24 hours a day, monitoring of medication and a supply of recreational materials such as board games.
Maynard Residence is home to both male and female tenants. The home is within walking distance of recreational areas (ie. Sunnyside beach), places of worship, parks, banks, hospitals, shopping, library and Archway. The main intersection is King St. W and Jameson Ave. It is within steps of the King and Queen streetcar lines.
